Charity

As our company continues to grow from strength to strength, we like to give something back so others can too.

Lloyd James supports two deserving charities.

The World Land Trust

We now protect 165 acres of rainforest in Brazil.

Since its foundation in 1989 the World Land Trust has been working to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands. Through its invaluable work the World Land Trust has helped purchase and protect over 300,000 acres of wildlife-rich habitats in Belize, Costa Rica, the Philippines, South America and the UK.

The Atlantic rainforest is considered one of the most endangered and ecologically important eco-regions in the world. Due primarily to clearing of forests for coffee plantations and logging for hardwoods there is now only 7% of the original area remaining, most of which consists of isolated fragmented patches. Lloyd James have purchased and protected 165 acres of rainforest in the Guapi Assu Reserve in Brazil which has been funded by our profits.

The patron of the Trust, Sir David Attenborough, says "The World Land Trust's policy of buying land is the most direct and certain road to conservation. It deserves the support of all who care about the survival of the wild places of the world."

The Caldecott Foundation

For over a century, The Caldecott Foundation has been caring for children who have suffered the extremes of cruelty and neglect. They provide residential care for children aged 5-16, together with education in the on-site school and therapies to maximise each individual's life chances.

Children arrive through referral from social services, education and health departments following extreme hardship and suffering or having been devastated by cruelty and from neglect within their own families. They have been deprived of the capacity to grow and thrive, and are the children no one wants to know - awkward, aggressive, hard to teach and always in trouble. Their behaviour means they have been excluded from schools and housed in multiple placements before being referred to Caldecott.

The Caldecott Foundation’s approach is non-judgmental. They try to help the children come to terms with their past, understand their feelings and rebuild their fragmented lives. They offer a safe and secure environment in which the children can look back at their traumatic experiences and deal with their feelings of anger, sadness and hurt. With support they are encouraged to move forward. The Foundation helps them experience personal relationships, care and discipline, establish trust in adults and eventually take their place in society with confidence and courage.

We continue to support this deserving charity and if you would like to know more click here www.caldecottfoundation.co.uk.
